There are two protocols of SSD: M.2 SATA and M.2 NVMe Variations: SSD Protocol+Cable Type(e.g. “NVMe USB A Cable” means the enclosure is for M.2 NVMe SSD and for the devices with USB A port).

The 5Gbps SATA version is NOT with the thermal fin. Because it will not generate too much heat as the 10Gbps version. No worries about the heat dissipation.
